What I Wore Wednesday

Hello friends!
HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!

Let’s celebrate with a few random outfits, eh?!

So… the way I usually work this What I Wore Wednesdays is when I think about it and have the time I take a few pics of my outfits. That’s why these posts are so few and far between.
I get a lot of inspiration from the other ladies that share WIWW posts… So I think it’s fun to share mine to make me feel a little more accountable for trying. So here you go… I tried. haha.

cute outfit idea

Curled my hair! I don’t do it very often… hubs prefers it straight, and let’s be honest. It’s faster to straighten it. haha.
You’ve seen those capris here before… The pink ruffle top is from Stage.. couldn’t find the exact one, so here’s a link to all their ruffle tops. You’re welcome. haha.

So excuse the bags under my eyes or whatever was going on there… sheesh! haha. The point I’m trying to make with this outfit, is I just adore the earring and ring set I won from The Posh Daisy awhile back… and I am SO STOKED to say I will soon own a Posh Daisy hand stamped piece, since I won Cerrisse’s big birthday giveaway!
Can’t wait to show it to you dolls! WHOOT! :)

crochet rosette headband

Rosette Crochet Headband c/o Stitch Sense Designs -> Still loving my headband!
My one and only headband I might add… So I’m rocking it like crazy! :) Thanks again Nadir!

If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc… I’ve shouted from the rooftops how excited I was for this beauty to show up in my mailbox!! She’s from Gathered & Sown… such a cute shop, via a BelleChic deal email…

Gotta love a pretty ruffle purse on Sale! Whoot! I’m thinking she needs a name? Any suggestions??

Have a lovely rest of your week dolls! :)
Oh, and have you entered our June Group Giveaway yet??

Linking to these fun parties by the way! Hope you’ll check them out! :)

Stenciled Welcome Pillow

Hi there lovelies!

Today let’s make a Stenciled Welcome Throw Pillow!

My living room is decorated in a western theme, mostly browns and tans.
I thought a team roping throw pillow would be fun, and it was, but the space was screaming for some more COLOR! Turquoise in fact. :)
{Remember talking about this here…?}

fabric painted throw pillows, western home decor

Materials needed:
Envelope pillow cover – I use this tutorial for all the pillow covers I sew.
Fabric paint or craft paint (the team roper pillow was done with craft paint!)
Stencil – I designed the Welcome and the cowboy boot (purchased through the Silhouette store) on my Silhouette software then cut it out with my Silhouette in vinyl to make my stencil.
Paint Brush

making a stenciled throw pillow

I sew the envelope pillow cover to make the face of the pillow, but stop before sewing up the sides.
This makes it WAY easier to stencil and paint!

Peel and layout your stencil on the face of the pillow.

Then fill the stencil in with the fabric/craft paint, very carefully, with the paint brush!
I leave mine to dry at least overnight before sewing up the sides of the envelope pillow cover.

Viola! Your very own stenciled throw pillow!
I could make these all day! So fun! :)

Adds a nice pop of color to my otherwise fairly plain living area, don’t you think??

Thanks for crafting with me today lovelies!

Fancy This Features #80

Hi friends, Kayli here! I hope your Father’s Day Weekend was as fun as ours! Kassi came up with a nice little crowd and we got to visit and eat and play. It was pretty much wonderful. The link ups this week were also pretty wonderful! Here are some of my favorites:

Miss Connie from Path to Wellness shared this Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin recipe that looks AMAZING. I love muffins guys. I think they’re incredibly underrated and might even go so far to say that I’d take a good muffin over a cupcake any day. Yeah. I went there. {Shhhh…If you’re really quiet you can hear jaws hitting floors for miles.} Bonus? These have a healthy twist that keeps carb guilt to a minimum. (:

Next are these completely adorable Musical Fairy Wands by Victoria at vixenMade. Dudes. These are so stinking cute and they remind me of how much I loved ribbon wands when I was little. They’re a perfect little craft for summer!!

Fancy This Fridays 80 + Blog Angels

Happy Friday!
I love being able to say that… I love it when Friday is here, don’t you!?

So today before we get to the Fancy This Fridays link up… Let’s talk Blog Angels, shall we? It’s a project for the month of June, put together by Rosie and Katlyn. The basic premise is you were either invited to participate (thanks Rosie) or you joined up to be and get a “Blog Angel”.

Photobucket

The whole thing is anonymous, so I don’t know who my ‘angel’ is and my person doesn’t know that I’m their ‘angel’… But through the month of June you’re supposed to try to help your partner out by sharing their blog, doing something nice for them blog/Internet wise, etc. etc. All without them finding out who you are.

So this is the halfway point link up… Let me tell you, it’s hard to find ways to help out without giving it all away! Especially if you get assigned to a blog that pretty much has all of their stuff together! BUT I’ve been trying!

I’ll be honest too… I hadn’t even thought about who Truly Lovely’s angel might be. I was so busy trying to think of ways to help out the blog I had been assigned… Then I had an email exchanged with Rosie awhile back and she asked if I’d been trying to figure it out… From then on I started watching… But nope. No idea who it is! I have noticed a few new friends sharing my posts via twitter… Blog Angel? Is that you?? haha. All will be revealed on June 30th…

Until then…. Anyone have any fun ideas of ways to help out another blogger without them knowing who you are??

Onto the linky!!! So… what have you fancied up this last week? We’d love to see!!!!

Fancy This Fridays Rules:

1. Please link directly to the project post on your blog.
Not the blog itself.
2. Please link only your OWN posts.
We prefer to see what YOU have been up to… not someone random.
3. Please grab a button and display it somewhere on your blog. On your sidebar, on your posts, on your linky party page. We aren’t picky!
4. We would LOVE if you would comment on at least one other link.
Just pop over and say “Hello, coming by from Truly Lovely”, or something more clever… You know. ;)

Thanks for linking lovelies! Have a lovely weekend!!!!

Bloggie Bestie: Lauren of Warm & Fuzzy

Hi there pretty friends!
We have a brand new Bloggie Bestie to introduce you to today!!!
Lauren of Warm & Fuzzy
She’s here to share a fun DIY idea with us! :)
Take it away Lauren….

Hello chickies! I am so thrilled to be hanging out with all of you today!
Kassi was so sweet to invite me to be a “Bloggie Bestie” this week.
When she emailed me, I{ JUMPED} at the chance!
I had a lot of projects that I wanted to get done and since Kassi had invited me here this was the perfect opportunity to get a start on one of them.
I pinned a few projects and this one was really needed in my home.
So here today I am going to share my DIY Personalized Coasters & Cup Holder.
With a little help from my hubs {he used the power tools}
I was able to complete this project in two days, only because I had to let the paint dry over night.
First I gathered my supplies. My paint, I wanted that {Pottery Barn} look to the paint so I used “colonial red.” I purchased the handles, two of them, and the tiles, one packages, from home depot. The board my husband made for me. It was pre measured to fit the handles and the tiles we bought. He even put two little feet on the bottom to make it stand off the kitchen counter, these would prove problematic later.
I took the board outside. Shook up the paint can and went to work. Please excuse my painting skills.
I have none. :) My hubs even made this makeshift hanging thingie so that I was able to get a full second coat on the board all at once. I let the piece dry overnight. See those little feet I spoke of earlier, we had to unscrew those so that we could add the handle, them screw them back on. No biggie- that’s because I wasn’t the one using the power tools ;)
Hubs made hole for the handle screws on each side with minimal help from me- I mean someone had to take pictures right? Then it was complete or so I thought. We thought it was to plain. So I decided to add some vinyl. Open upped my computer, picked a font I liked, and chose the letters for our first names: Daddy, Mommy, Eli, and Ben. Cut out my vinyl. Slapped it on. Rub it real good. Peel off nice and slow.
Ta Da! as my boys would say! We had a personalized cup holder with coasters! Its very simple to make if you have some extra wood lying around and someone handy with power tools as well.
Thanks to Kassi for letting me hang out here today. I hope to see many of your fabulous faces over at my space! Stop by and say hi!

Lately…

Hey there lovelies!

Lately there’s a few things that I’ve been loving around this amazing blog community of ours. Thought it would be a good idea to take a day and share with you a few things I’m positive you won’t want to miss!

______________

I adored this post about making love an action word… Bonus? It includes my most favorite scripture…. maybe that’s cliche, but I don’t care. haha.

SO, SO excited and happy for this sweet girl!

Know anyone getting married? This would make a fun gift!

Did you know you can have culture shock in…. America. Totally can. And living without Mexican food?! I would never!

This chick has an AMAZING shoe collection… Color me jealous!!! ;)

Here’s a few fun ideas of activities to do with your kiddos this summer!

Speaking of fun activities do you have a fun list like this? We’re thinking of hosting a sort of Bucket List link up soon… Maybe you should start one! ;)

Isn’t this bow holder ADORABLE!?!?! You can buy one here.

I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms, but I can see this recipe making a mushroom lover’s week!

This sweet lady has the cutest little girls!

I’ll take a few of these no sew extender slips… One in white and one in black!
K, thanks. ;)

Can you believe this outfit cost $5!?!?!

Do you ever feel like this with your BFFs?

I was abruptly made aware of a CRAZY way someone can steal and use your photos! I had no idea things like this were happening! Watermark your pics peeps! Especially those of the kiddos!

The fourth of July is coming up! Help your little miss feel oh so patriotic with this!

While you’re at it, feel a little patriotic yourself!

I WILL be drinking my coffee just like this during this HOT AZ summer!

Have a lovely rest of the week dolls!!!

Market Tote and Clutch Set

Since Mother’s Day is long gone for 2012 and we’re actually approaching Father’s Day, I decided it would be safe to share the gifts I made for my Mom and Tammy  (hub’s step-mom).

I have really been enjoying sewing lately and was excited to create a handmade gift for each of the mothers in our life!

zip top clutches

I sewed two zipped clutches based off this Michelle Sewing Pattern. The only difference in the two was the color of the zippers. One was black, one was white.

I also made my mom a market tote using a Market Tote Simplicity Sewing Pattern.
I was excited that the black paisley fabric and purple floral accent fabric paired so well together!
The lining of both the clutches and the market tote was the purple floral.

fabric tote

Inside each clutch I also included a brand new Layers by Scentsy shower gel for an added surprise!

These were so fun to make! I really enjoy giving handmade gifts!
Hopefully they were as gladly received as they were lovingly made! ;)

handmade tote and clutch

So what about you? Do you like to sew? Enjoy gifting handmade?

Happy sewing lovelies!
